#227 The Roof Construction Begins – Beams in Place

I'm five years here, three years world traveling, so that's eight years.

So eight years I'm just relying on the friendship as it was before. And the friendship can continue, but it's all nostalgia. You don't go to the same bar and you talk about your job, you know. That's that's friendship Like as if you're in in the same world. But I think that you have to put in some creativity and work with like good friends. Yeah they're good, we can paint them already one thing I didn't mention is try not to make them too round as in... like keep this Because it that makes the shape a bit more organic Yeah I would say, if you're here... you have this one still? Butternut squash are doing well. Pumpkins are staying relatively small, the orange ones And um yeah, rest is doing well. It's been a good week. The beams are on. I had made a mistake ordering the beams so we had to process a few more. The beam size was calculated for seven beams but I only bought five, so ten because they're together. Thought to do it the same way as the workshop but this is kind of the original structure with seven beams holding up the roof and then rafters on top So yeah those are all in place, level, and now the priority is stonework for next week Because I want to raise the walls until the rafters because I need scaffolding to build it and once the roof is on, it's difficult to do that.

So that's now the priority and then um rafters, boards and finish the roof. Yeah, a good group of people. This time only German speaking. Two from Germany, one from Austria. And the guy from Austria, Moritz and David, they are now on a hike together for three days. So people become friends, which is nice David with the white hair, he was walking from Switzerland to the coast, broken up by some bus connections he's taking too, but mostly like going in and out of the Alps. Now the other guy's joining. So yeah, nice group of people. Moved a lot of stones. took the boards off etc so yeah, next week I'm on my own. it's good to be on my own, I've been working with people past weeks which is obviously very helpful, but It's time to spend some time alone again.
